| Background on the City Tour |
| The city of Daegu, which recently celebrated its 400th anniversary of Gyeongsang-gamyeong, has grown into a sophisticated cultural city through its efforts to become a global leader in the textile industry. When the City Tour first began on December 2nd, 2000, it provided a free service that offered a comfortable option for domestic and foreign travelers to tour around the city and take in the attraction. The goal behind the tour was to promote Daegu as a city of sights and build up its image among tourists for the upcoming 2002 World Cup, the 2003 Universiade Daegu and various other national festivities. |
